Gum Rosin
Gum Rosin is a natural resin obtained through the distillation of gum-resin extracted from Pinus elliottii var. elliottii. It consists primarily of isomers of Pimaran and Abietan acids. Known for its versatile chemical properties, Gum Rosin can act as an acid due to the presence of the carboxyl radical (-COOH), making it highly reactive in various applications.
Rosin possesses a phenanthrenic nucleus with unsaturation, allowing it to undergo multiple chemical reactions. It is semi-transparent and varies in color from yellow to black. At room temperature, it is brittle, but it melts at moderate heat. Due to its high flammability, it must be handled with care when melted. The product is soluble in alcohol, ether, benzene, and chloroform.
At Bostech Polymer, we supply high-quality Gum Rosin in the UAE and GCC, ensuring consistent performance, reliable sourcing, and technical support for industrial applications.
